1. Daniel did it for Sha’re
Apophis knew a little about manipulation. He knew more about pride and ego, though, and it took the System Lords in a rare instance of cooperation to put one snake’s self-interest aside and defeat the Tau’ri using nothing but old-fashioned bribery.
All Daniel wanted was his wife. He got her, and his brother-in-law – both unsnaked - and a free trip back to Abydos with a promise of being left alone. He gave them a free ticket into the Gateroom. The Goa’uld actually followed through on their end; he never saw another “God” on Abydos.
He tried not to think that it was because conquering and occupying Earth took up a great deal of their time.
2. Teal’c did it for Rya’c
Teal’c was the only Jaffa on Earth, and Rya’c was his only son.
It was 7 billion lives for one, the home of the one people who had challenged the false Gods in centuries, the people who offered the Jaffa nation freedom.
And it was his son.
3. Sam and Jack did it, together, by accident.
Because they didn’t have Daniel to point out the mythology of that particular Goa’uld, nor Teal’c to break down the battle tactics.
It wasn’t a betrayal so much as a screw-up, but it had the same end results.
4. Vala did it for money.
They were surprised. Not that she did it, of course, but that she waited until the final battle was almost over, and that her price was so low.
5. Cameron did it for Origin.
But by then, they all did.
